CAPACITY BUILDING GRANTS
Capacity building grants of $15,000 or less are available for projects that strengthen the organizational infrastructure of nonprofit organizations that:
- Serve residents of Stark, Carroll, Holmes, Tuscarawas, and Wayne Counties, and
- Have missions that align with the Foundation's
The goal of this
grant program is to serve existing organizations by enhancing sustainability
and organizational strength. Grants will be awarded for projects that focus on
strategic vision and impact, governance and leadership, existing program
delivery, resource generation, internal operations and management, evaluation
and learning, and strategic relationships.
Capacity building grants don’t typically support personnel costs, development or implementation of new programs, capital projects, or activities the organization has budgeted for in the past.
The Foundation staff
will review capacity building requests on a rolling basis.
Examples of past
capacity building grants.
- Faith in Action of Western Stark County: $4,000 to support and organizational assessment
- Greater Stark County Urban Leage: $10,000 to support succession planning and related costs
- Phoenix Rising Behavioral Healthcare and Recovery: $9,700 to support board development services and technological needs
