In 2024, the Foundation board and staff embarked on a new, three-year strategic plan. Leaning into our history of inclusivity, a legacy we share with our founders, the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine, one of our focus areas is to enhance the accessibility of our Foundation for the community.
Our history is a source of inspiration for our current work and a guide into the future as we share the following statement that embodies that commitment:
Grounded in our mission, the Sisters of Charity Foundation of Canton believes in approaching our work with hospitality, humility, and patience. In our grantmaking and community relationships, we commit to promoting inclusion, dignity, and a sense of belonging for all, especially for those experiencing or addressing poverty. We pledge to view our work through a lens of love, which connects us to our mission and compels us to joyfully accompany our grantees and partners as we, together, cultivate systemic change.
